Red, the colour of every beginning.

In a double ikat Patola, both warp and weft threads are tied and dyed before weaving, and the design emerges only when they meet in exact register. This red saree wears that discipline beautifully: a deep red body filled with a lattice of elephants, swans and peacocks in cream, orange, blue and green, and a vivid pink pallu woven with fine Patola motifs, glowing gold zari and a wide zari band. Pink and gold hand-knotted tassels finish the pallu.
