Description
Description
Two colours. One saree. The distance between them is the art.
The Banarasi rangkat technique does not blend colours so much as it places them in conversation — orange at the body, hot pink at the pallu, with an elaborate gold zari border as the moment of transition between them. Wave patterns and arched temple motifs carry the eye from one register to the next; the pallu arrives fully formed in dense magenta and gold lattice. Small gold zari buttis travel quietly through the orange body, and gold tassels close the pallu.
The blouse piece, attached, carries the same small gold butti work as the body. Wear this saree and let the colours do the arriving for you.

A gold or champagne blouse is the natural companion — as shown in the drape, it bridges the orange and pink without competing with either. Temple or antique gold jewellery, worn heavily: this colour combination belongs to that tradition. Hair pinned or half-up, with gold accessories. The orange-to-pink transition looks most dramatic when the pallu is draped to fall freely at the front.
Care Instructions
Care Instructions
- Dry clean only — Uppada silk and Banarasi zari work both require professional care to retain their texture and sheen.
- Store folded in a breathable muslin cloth. Do not use plastic covers — moisture can damage both the silk and the zari.
- Keep away from direct sunlight for extended periods to prevent colour fading, particularly in the shaded orange-to-pink transition.
- Handle the gold zari border, pallu, and butti work with care — avoid friction against rough surfaces or sharp jewellery edges.
- Do not iron directly on the zari work. If required, iron on a low setting on the reverse side with a soft pressing cloth.
- Store gold tassels carefully, wrapped in tissue, to prevent tangling or fraying.
