Beige and red. The oldest understanding.

Natural Tussar silk carries its auspicious colour quietly — a beige ground threaded with red horizontal stripes across the body, punctuated by large circular gold zari medallions that arrive at measured intervals. The pallu deepens: red asserts itself in a wide band with gold zari work, the stripes continuing into the body in the characteristic woven interplay of these two colours that Indian textiles have understood for centuries. Black tassels at the pallu edge — the only unexpected note in a combination that has otherwise always known what it was.

A deep red blouse — as shown — is the strongest pairing, letting the beige body and gold medallions carry their full contrast. Dark garnet, ruby, or antique gold jewellery fits the combination naturally; a simple beaded or stone necklace as shown grounds it without overwhelming. Hair up in a bun or braid. The black tassels are a quiet surprise — they add a contemporary edge to a deeply traditional colour story.

• Dry clean recommended to preserve the Tussar silk texture, woven stripe detail, and gold zari medallions.
• If hand washing, use cold water and a very mild detergent; handle gently and do not wring or rub the woven pattern.
• Store folded in a breathable muslin cloth — avoid plastic covers which can affect the natural texture of Tussar.
• Keep away from direct sunlight for extended periods to prevent fading in both the beige ground and red stripes.
• Iron on a low setting on the reverse side with a pressing cloth. Avoid direct contact with the iron on the zari medallions or black tassels.
• Handle the black tassels gently to prevent tangling or fraying.
